Job Description
This hands-on role requires the ability to build and leverage relationships, while effectively balancing ongoing, short term tactical work with longer term strategic needs and challenges. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for leading, implementing and collaborating on a wide variety of human resources initiatives supporting the business including employee relations, policies and practices and other HR duties while working in a fast paced environment. The Human Resources Manager needs to be proactive in assessing and solving problems, providing credible counsel and options regarding the people implications of business decisions and plans. Subject matter expertise in HR best practice is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the planning, development and management of human resource initiatives that enable achievement of the business operational goals and align with L.E.K.’s mission, vision and values
- Work with firm leadership to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and employee satisfaction
- Evaluates HR effectiveness through data analysis – prepare and distribute HR metrics to ensure business needs are met
- Develop and execute communication strategies to share information about the business, HR programs and offerings and other relevant information
- Supporting the onboarding experience including new employee orientation, ensuring employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions, introduction to office logistics and procedures
- Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Supporting benefits administration
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
- Manage offboarding process and conducts exit interviews.
- Ergonomics assessment –local oversight and implementation of program in the New York office
- Workers comp: assist with the investigation of work place incidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers
- Administration of leaves: parental, STD, LTD, FMLA, sabbatical and other programs
- Lead other projects as assigned by the People team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of human resources experience
- Solid project management, time management and analytical skills
- Candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication
- The ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate integrity, confidentially and professionalism at all times
- High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Light travel required
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Professional services experience is preferred. PHR/SPHR highly desirable
