Microsoft’s Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team builds and operates Microsoft datacenters , which in turn power Microsoft’s cloud business. We anticipate and provide capacity for continuous scale. The CO+I Engineering team (CO+IE) delivers services, applications, and automation supporting datacenter planning, construction, and operation. We own a large portfolio of services, including workflows that enable predicable, lowest cost datacenter construction, telemetry systems that drive high availability and optimized energy usage, and task and performance management applications that help our operation run as efficiently as possible. CO+I Engineering is a competitive advantage for Microsoft, and an important pillar in its cloud success.
The purpose of this role: Our core infrastructure is a target for cyber criminals and nation-state adversaries that seek to bring harm to our businesses, customers, and staff. The Security Engineering & Critical Infrastructure (SECI) team is focused on delivering security and critical environments technology services across the datacenter delivery lifecycle. In this role you will drive security outcomes by leading the end-to-end delivery of IT and Critical Environments infrastructure projects that improve security across our global portfolio. You will partner closely with your colleagues, engineering, and infrastructure teams, and key decision makers across CO+I to develop best in class network infrastructure for high security networks in data centres and into space.

Responsibilities
- Plan and execute the end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure programs/projects across Microsoft’s Datacenter portfolio.
- Build project timelines, estimate level of effort, manage milestones, and course correct projects to maintain overall schedule/cost/quality.
- Identify and mitigate project execution risks.
- Orchestrate planning, execution, monitoring and managing communications with stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Coordinate with key points of contact to drive the procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and acceptance of IT infrastructure.
- Transition completed projects to support through an acceptance process.
- Ensure that any pending deliverables identified during the acceptance process are closed out or accepted by operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in the administration and documentation of tools.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes and drive ideas to completion.
- Manage deployment of technology upgrades to existing systems.
- Partnering across external engineering and support teams, datacenter design and build teams, and key decision makers across CO+I

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of IT Project Management experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering IT infrastructure.
- 2+ years of experience managing/coordinating cross-functional or cross-team projects for end-to-end delivery of bare metal IT infrastructure (planning, procurement, installation, configuration, testing, acceptance, etc.).
- Consistent track record of collaborating with PMs and engineers across organizations
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-organizational, technical projects.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines and with virtual team members; strong relationship building skills expected.
- Ability to use various project management methodologies.
- Solid customer focused, relationship focused pattern of work.
- Excellent organizational skills including calendar, email, and time management.
- Ability to create structure from abstract ideas, take initial concepts to full maturity.
- Technically savvy with the ability to solve both technical and non-technical problems.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in business, computer, security, or related discipline OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Experience delivering technology in an industrial environment.
- Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Experience developing, delivering, or operating enterprise scale services or datacenter technologies or physical security systems.
- Working knowledge of data analytics tools (Power BI, etc.)
- Ability to resolve ambiguity or conflict situations to bring global teams and business groups into alignment.
- Experience managing projects with multiple work streams and partners; demonstrated strategic planning abilities.
- Familiar with Agile project management practices and Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
- Creativity and optimism grounded in practical engineering and business strategy.
