The Business Development Manager will develop and manage applications and solutions through all phases of the product and portfolio lifecycle according to market needs, strategy, and targets of the segment strategy.
You will work closely and efficiently across marketing & sales and with portfolio managers and local country M&S team on all levels to bring growth to the expected level.
The ideal candidate is located in Germany or any other country with EU time zone.
Your responsibilities
- Business Intelligence. Closely following global market-, technology- and customer trends & requirements for industrial electronics, focusing on established markets. Including conduct-ing competitor analyses, identifying product gaps, and continuously evaluating the seg-ment’s portfolio, value proposition, and ecosystem.
- Development plans. According to the positioning strategy defined by the segment for the assigned portfolio offering, consult and collaborate with the local teams and global functions to define the multi-year portfolio development plan, including the sales and marketing activities, channels development, pricing strategy, and solution sales development while supporting pricing model approvals, and monitors the contribution margin and profitability per country versus the expected target.
- Regional Coordination and Country Coverage. Coordinate with target geographies M&S teams, dedicated to implementing the business segment strategy in the countries, liaising with the local sales as well as the related GKAMs.
- Customer focus. Provide sales support to the global and local ABB channels and account teams in focus markets, with particular care to established countries. Face customers directly where local sales require support or could work with assigned ones according to the portfolio business plan.
- Sales planning. Ensure sales plan on focus segments, channels, and applications for selected markets are prepared and maintained, by year sales plan and overall strategy, to achieve defined targets.
- Growth initiatives. Drive the implementation of the segment initiatives and lead profitable organic growth by expanding customer base as well as go-to-market methods for scalable and profitable growth.
- Strategic opportunities and Partnerships and M&A opportunities. Design, drive, and support the development of new strategic market opportunities and segments. Manage active partnership pipeline and support the execution of co-innovation projects.
Your background
- Experienced talented professional with a bachelor’s degree (Master or MBA as an ad-vantage) in engineering or related fields.
- 10+ years of relevant and demonstrable experience with automation or related fields.
- A proven track record in motivating teams in a multi-cultural context within a large organization. Familiarized with executing the change in an international organization, and willing to be a part of an in-depth business transformation journey.
- Proven ability to translate front end requirements into actionable steps for internal operational and related function team with commercial acumen to create a business-aligned strategy.
- Result oriented execution mindset. Self-driven, resilient, energetic, enthusiastic, and inclusive; creating or responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs as well as tolerant of ambiguity.
