About Credit & Fraud Risk Finance
Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Finance team delivers fact-based, decision-driven and high-impact credit-risk related insights and deep analytics, P&L stress tests to support regulatory views and governance processes and the forecasting of Net Loss Provision. The key objective is to drive prudent financial decisions and support credit-risk strategies while ensuring adherence to governance and controls. This position will be part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity.
About The Financial Analyst Role
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the forecasting of write-offs and reserves and related analysis for stress testing. This position offers the opportunity to understand the dynamics of external (economic) and internal (key metrics) drivers of Amex’s loss forecast, support senior management with key analysis, and collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Support development of financial projections across different macroeconomic environments to support various stress testing exercises across AXP, including Bank Holding Company and local markets
- Support the development and implementation of an automated solution for forecasting using enterprise data systems such as TM1
- Partner with various cross-functional teams, including Treasury, Corporate Planning, and Risk in support of CCAR, ICAAP, and other business forecasting exercises
- Execute on the team’s data governance, documentation, and process and controls efforts
- Develop ad-hoc analyses in support of the overall stress testing process
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related
- Strong Excel skills, including modeling large amounts of data while maintaining strict controls on data quality
- Experience with PowerPoint and the ability to create impactful and cohesive presentations for Senior Management
- Strong understanding of credit card economics
- Experience with SQL and TM1 preferred
- Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results
- Ability to handle high pressure environment with aggressive deadlines
- Growth Mindset – Positive and adaptable to a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL and TM1 preferred
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
