Principal responsibilities
- Assisting in the management, coordination and execution of risk management activities across the business globally.
- Provide commercially based monitoring of risks, services and processes against agreed group/divisional standards and external requirements.
- Ensure the risk governance framework is clear and fit for purpose, and that escalation paths are adequate and effective.
- As a member of the Non-Financial Risk business risk management team, contribute to the broader strategy and performance of the global function
- Support the Non-Financial Risk and senior management in ensuring the appropriate risk and control structure is in place and that risks that have been highlighted are managed appropriately
- Ensure succinct and concise communication of risk matters across the Global Functions (especially Group Risk) and other relevant areas of the bank
- Oversee the execution of the Risk Management Framework across Security Services.
- Attend key Security Services Risk & Control committees/forums and ensure that the agenda effectively covers key risks and issues.
- Regularly review the NFR teams’ priorities, activities, structure and resources, optimally aligning to business needs and risk appetite.
- Cost-effectively minimize the likelihood and impact of disruption by ensuring that the business can continue to meet at the expectations of customers, counterparties, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Implement supporting strategies, policies and procedures to ensure that operational (and other) risks are managed closely and effectively, in a commercially sensitive and practical manner.
- Drive to ensure that the business risk profile, and any related issues/impacts, are understood by the business and the appropriate actions (and/or risk acceptance) have been put in place to manage within appetite.
Qualifications
- Proven organizational, planning, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and team building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage own tasks and excellent prioritization skills.
- Experience in supporting & collaborating on global process with internal/ external stakeholders across several countries and building new process from the scratch.
- Appreciation of financial industry and key regulation on the financial markets practices.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business or finance;
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and manage their expectations.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner at all levels in the organization including Senior management community – Asset class and Regional Chief Control officers, Market Security Services Chief Control Officer and associated resources.
- Ability to turn around deliverables with short lead time and be able to work with different cultural groups to build consensus.
- Previous experience in an operational risk or internal control function is an advantage.
