Will be assigned to support one or more areas of Simplot’s Global Ag business areas which include AgriBusiness(Wholesale and Mining & Manufacturing), Land & Livestock, and Animal Sciences.
Analyzes and implements functional solutions for business systems and sub-systems spanning multiple lines of business regionally and internationally.
Designs and drafts technical specifications from minor to complex system changes and enhancements.
Analyzes and modifies system design requirements to enhance functionality or fix known errors in software applications and integrations.
Participate as functional/technical lead or team member on business sponsored projects working with cross functional teams from solution design through implementation.
Performs unit testing on modifications and configuration changes. May perform minor development functions depending on assigned application technology.
Monitors application lifecycles and plans/performs necessary upgrades and maintenance.
Resolves Level 3 and 4 (incidents and problems escalated from the IT Service Desk and Application end-users.
Potential for occasional after-hours support and/or limited travel for education, support, and implementation.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
3 or more years related experience and/or training.
Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to read/write queries and stored procedures. Familiarity with SSIS,SSRS, ETL tools a plus.
Ability to read and understand scripting and code. Prior software development experience in one or more languages highly valuable. (C#, Cold Fusion, .Net, Azure, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
Understanding of Application Integration techniques - APIs, ETL, etc.
Knowledge of Agricultural or Agronomic Technology, Manufacturing and Retail operations, Retail or Cost Accounting, Supply and Operations Planning, and Blender / Scale technologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in and across teams.
Passion for learning, researching, and resolving complex problems in areas of ambiguity. Motivated to understand and map out how things work and can be improved.
Well organized with ability to work on multiple tasks and pivot as required. Knowledge of ticketing systems and Azure Dev-Ops.
