Job Description

We’re building a culture based on learning and creating meaningful experiences for our customers. We are seeking a multi-skilled Product Designer 2 with a mastery of visual design, experience design, interface construction, branding, and storytelling. We’re looking for a designer who’s driven by empathy for customers, and the desire to carry ideas from rough ideas to launch. The right candidate works independently and is a passionate collaborator with other design teams, engineering teams and marketing groups.

Finally, this designer defaults to a making/building mindset – when in doubt we build something and test it. Embracing quick prototyping and testing is central to this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with product owners and development team members to shepherd end-to-end experiences from concept to ship for products.
  • Begins to define needs of product designs based on multiple factors such as user insights and business needs.
  • Supports team in developing a synthesis of user insights and compares with data to identify larger issues that may not be apparent for user desires.
  • Prototypes for new products under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Prepares estimated production timelines.
  • Collaborates with Engineering to aid in successful design implementation and performs QAs to help them ensure "pixel perfect" or detailed designs for each iteration.
  • Contributes to visual designs from concept to delivery under the guidance of senior team members. Facilitates the creative visual design process by producing the visual language for a product.
  • Creates visual design documents including mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, 3D models, product renderings/visualizations, color and materials design, motion studies, iconography, illustrations, layouts, and redlines for an assigned product, tool, or service.
  • Creates wireframes, journey maps, user jobs and scenarios, task flows, and personas in support of interaction designs for software-based experiences under the direction of a senior team member.
  • Uses a prescribed design system (e.g., content templates, icons, form design, UI controls, navigation models, design trends).
  • Proactively communicates with peers and managers in their studio team.
  • Helps organize communication with cross-disciplinary teams inside and across stages of design and development.
  • Recognizes and communicates the user needs to team members and recommends ideas to create a compelling narrative for the product. Explores new and interesting ways of telling stories.
  • Facilitates fundamental tasks on projects with creative team members, program managers, and developers (e.g., the triad/quad) to define and iterate new and existing product features.
  • Participates in one or more studies at a time and collaborates, creates, and helps the team deliver product design results. Influences team members in support of product design impact.
