Given the importance of data-driven decisions in successful businesses, it's as imperative to continue that success by recruiting and cultivating the talents committed to the discipline to meet the growing demands from lines of business within Moody's Analytics, from sales to product design to engineering teams. Simply put, the demand for data analysis and insight has outgrown the available supply.

Please note this role is Remote.

The UI/UX design intern would be expected to contribute to the design process and collaborate with the team. They would play a significant role in shaping the user experience of the product while working under the guidance and supervision of the more experience team members (marketing, product managers and developers)

  • Designing User Interfaces: The intern would be responsible for designing user interfaces for different parts of the Pulse product. This could involve creating wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes, and could also include designing user flows and interactions. The intern will use tools like Figma and Adobe XD for this purpose and converting the designs to HTML for a Java developer to code against.
  • Usability Testing: The intern could be involved in conducting usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of the designs and making necessary adjustments as requested by Marketing, Product and Development teams.
  • Collaborating with the Team: The intern will work closely with members of the Marketing, Product and Development teams and related stakeholders. This would involve communicating design ideas and decisions, as well as collaborating on problem-solving and design iterations.
  • Learning and Skill Development: As an intern, one of the primary responsibilities would be to learn and develop skills. This could involve learning new design tools, techniques, or methodologies, as well as learning about the industry, the company, and the product.

Qualifications:

  • Degree seeking from an accredited university or college in one of the following majors: Design (or related field), Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Anticipated graduation date of June 2025 (rising senior)
  • Foundational understanding of both design principles and software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, etc.
  • Ability to design and develop interfaces that work well on a variety of screen sizes and platforms.
  • Prefer knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java and Software Development Lifecyle (SLDC)
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL skills and Oracle are a plus
  • Must be self-motivated; a self-starter and problem-solver
  • Must be a clear communicator (written and verbal skills)
