Test planning and execution
•    Responsible for developing test cases, planning test set ups as per defined test strategy in order to assess the functional and non-functional quality and reliability of a component and/ or a system.
•    Responsible for developing test scripts and maintaining them, in case of automated testing. 
•    Responsible for reviewing the requirements, feature descriptions, user experience specifications etc. to ensure that they are testable from functional and non-functional points of view.
•    Accountable for performing the tests with safety precautions. 
•    Responsible for ensuring agreed levels of test coverage, where needed collaborating with other stakeholders such as development teams. 
•    Responsible for maintaining the test cases to ensure their continued effectiveness
•    Responsible for performing testing at customer sites and at external labs.
Defect Resolution
•    Accountable for analyzing test results and reporting defects in an actionable form using the agreed processes and tools. 
•    Responsible for assisting the development teams in reproducing, analyzing the defects.
Quality and Reliability
•    Responsible for summarizing the quality and reliability status based on the performed tests
•    Responsible for providing accurate inputs to other processes such as quality mgmt., release mgmt. and DevOps processes, to ensure product/service quality and reliability levels are understood and used for decision making. 
•    Responsible for troubleshooting field issues and supporting the development teams in quick resolution of the same.
•    Responsible for performing Certification and qualification testing for new components/modules.
Collaboration
•    Responsible for participating and actively contributing to agile ceremonies such as daily stand ups and sprint planning.
•    Responsible for collaborating with other testers to ensure a system level approach to testing and reliability assessment. 
•    Responsible for collaborating with other stakeholders such as developers, integrators, and product owners to ensure effective testing. 
•    Provide inputs to stakeholder teams with improvements ideas and corrective actions about the system/component being tested.
Safety Focus
•    Responsible for Tester and simulator internal safety inspections and compliance with safety regulations
