General Responsibilities

  • A seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of civil engineering resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in structural engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
  • Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering.
  • Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards.
  • Ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
  • Communicates with DPW on civil issues and works towards the best solutions.
  • Performs research for special equipment and methods for occasional non-standard repairs.
  • Oversees Craft Shops on Civil/Structural type repair work performed.
  • May perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower-level personnel.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 6-10 years of civil engineering experience
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy).
  • Must obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods, ability to lift objects up to 50lbs.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
