- Together with Product Owners, collaborate with business stakeholders at all levels to identify, qualify, prioritise and agree on business requirements, ensuring that business stakeholders express requirements and do not ask upfront for a solution.
- Ensure that metrics definitions are consistent across the different functional reporting and model, maintaining the core metrics definitions document.
- Identify and analyse the data involved in any requirement and understand the context of how the data is generated or altered (ie. business processes, business actors and source systems involved). Assess if the requirements can be met with the available data.
- Map the data, and document the logic of any data transformation required as part of the requirements documentation.
- In collaboration with the technical team, assess and document the impact to the existing solutions and ensure that the Product Owner, Project Team and any relevant stakeholder understand those impacts.
- Document and maximise the quality of the requirements gathered, including BRD, User Stories and mock-ups, and ensure comprehensive acceptance criteria are clearly documented.
- Facilitate and maintain requirement traceability.
- Obtain sign-off from the different stakeholders for Business Requirements, Solution Specification Document, and for final deliverables.
- Perform handover activities to other project team members, e.g. developers and testers, to ensure that the requirements and proposed design are clearly understood and agreed.
- Support the testing team during all the testing phases by reviewing and complementing the test scripting, as well as support end users during UAT.
- Provide support to the training department to ensure a smooth transition, e.g. production of process and functional documentation. Conduct training where required
- Perform analysis to identify the root causes of any issues identified during testing or in our Live products.
The Successful Applicant
Skills/Experience:
Experience:
- Experience as a Business Analyst or assuming Business Analysis responsibility as part of his/her role
- Experience defining requirements for Reporting / Business Intelligence / Data Analytics projects, producing data mapping files, describing complex data transformations and visualization specifications
- Experience with BI solutions (Power BI preferred)
- Experience analysing data using basic scripts or excel.
- Exposure to the design of logical data models to deliver business requirements
- Experience in the Consultancy sector in a customer facing role is a plus
- Exposure to work / project management tools such as DevOps, Jira.
Skills:
- Highly analytical with a great attention to detail.
- Curious mind and desire to understand and learn:
- The source system involved in generating the data being analysed including data structures and high level process flows
- Technical details of the solution being implemented.
- Why processes are set up, and people's behaviours, and the implications to those in the data
- The business challenges and why those analytics are important, supporting product owners effectively
- Good understanding of Business Intelligence concepts
- The ability to understand the big picture and strategic objectives, displaying organisational sensitivity
- Resilience to workload and pressure
- High level of autonomy and sense of ownership
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to clearly articulate ideas, solutions and recommendations to all levels of staff via presentations, walkthroughs and one-to-ones
- Able to decompose/simplify complex ideas and present these back to the business in a way that they can understand and at an appropriate level of detail
- Business focussed with strong interpersonal and networking skills, being able to establish and maintain solid, trusting relationships with project stakeholders at all levels
- Able to work collaboratively with project stakeholders and team members at all levels and demonstrate sound facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Quality driven and taking ownership of problems and issues and seek to proactively resolve
- Ability to work in a multicultural & multifunctional team
- Positive attitude
Language Skills:
- Proficiency level in English: The right candidate should have the capability to run end-users interviews, participate to meetings and write high quality documentation in English
- Knowledge of additional language(s) is a plus
