Responsibilities
· Assist in the construction and assembly of architectural models using various materials, such as wood, foam, plastic, and cardboard.
· Follow instructions and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to accurately create models that reflect the design intent.
· Utilize model-making tools and equipment, including but not limited to, laser cutters, 3D printers, and traditional model-making tools.
· Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and ensure that models meet their specifications.
· Apply artistic and creative skills to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the models, ensuring they are visually appealing and effectively communicate the design concepts.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper storage and organization of materials, tools, and equipment.
· Assist in the maintenance and repair of model-making equipment to ensure their optimal functionality.
· Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in model-making techniques and materials and incorporate them into the construction process when appropriate.
· Adhere to established safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in model-making or a related field is preferred but not required.
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
· Proficiency in using model-making tools and equipment.
· Basic knowledge of various materials commonly used in model-making, such as wood, foam, plastic, and cardboard.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with architects, designers, and project managers.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges in the model-making process.
· Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Basic computer skills, including proficiency in using design software and programs (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) is a plus.
