Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.
Experience in SQL and spread sheet.
Understanding of accounting principles, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and related international accounting standards.
Ability to lead and drive complex operational initiatives and work in a cross-functional fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Excellent negotiation, people management, and communications skills.
Responsibilities
Be accountable for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of all processes related to controllership for Google Payments in the APAC region and Payment entities in APAC.
Build relationships with regional and functional partners to ensure scalable solutions. Drive the global agenda for eliminating, automating, standardizing external processes to deliver efficiencies and improved controls.
Ensure all month-end and year-end reporting within statutory/agreed timelines, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements and filing deadlines are met. Work with external providers to review work and implement new initiatives.
Recognize potential areas of risk and develop risk management solutions.
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close presentations for accounting and controls management, and collaborate with global Business Finance and Controllership teams to ensure consistency and efficiency across presentations.
