Your role and responsibilities

The HR Operations Payroll Process Lead- leads the Payroll of India & South Africa Cluster countries and takes full accountability and responsible for end-to-end payroll delivery, Payroll Time, Payroll Operations, Payroll Tax and Payroll Accounting.The work model for the role is: #LI - Onsite, #LI - HybridThis role is contributing to the ABB Services in Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. Perform payroll reconciliation includes CTC checks, variance checks etc• Performs complex HR Master Data changes in line with compliance, data privacy and service levels requirements. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.• Ensure Payroll related compliance is processed on time (PF, PT, ESI, LWF, TDS). Supervise for updates to Internal payroll processing software, systems, and procedures based on the changes as per the Income tax and Labor laws.• End to End Income Tax Management including Senior management taxation and other Incentive taxation related to LTIP, MIP etc. Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.• Provide transactional and administrative services related to in scope processes (e.g. personnel & payroll data, benefits administration, talent administration) including mass transaction updates. Functions as expert regarding all aspects of data and payroll processing. Ensures adherence to AskHR’s Way of Working.• Ensures all HR processes incorporate appropriate control mechanisms, including 4-eye-check, data protection and country legal/regulatory compliance tasks. Delivers services according to signed-off processes, KPIs and quality targets.• Drives implementation of streamlined practices and processes across areas of authority which will result in cost reduction, improved internal control, process efficiency and excellent customer (employee) satisfaction.• Builds strong working relationships with various cross-functional groups throughout Human Resources. Champion ABB core values and LEAN initiatives. Partner with other LPO, Human Resources Business Partner's (HRBPs), Country Tax manager, "Trust management" team and key stakeholders regarding payroll changes.

Qualifications for the role

  • 9+ years of experience with extensive knowledge of the payroll function including audits, internal control, and payroll taxes. Good knowledge of labor law. knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes PAN India.
  • Payroll experience in SAP, payroll integration knowledge and working knowledge in Workday application. Ability to answer queries on own initiative by effective use and interpretation of relevant data available information.
  • Knowledge of the EMEA/APAC payroll process will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of "trust management" is desirable i.e. provident fund and gratuity. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to manage confidential situations with tact, and professionalism. Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize workload. Ensures that enquiries raised in Ask HR tool are answered and transactional activities are done. High degree of passion.
  • Postgraduate /bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
