The Opportunity
Adobe Design is seeking an Experience Designer to rethink video editing
workflows for a new generation of creatives! The mission of this team is to bring
the power of our best-in-class tools to the everyday creator in the most simplest
form possible. This role will be essential in making that happen by unwinding an
inherently complex problem space into an approachable, yet powerful, set of
workflows. This could be you!
The ideal candidate will take great pleasure in all these activities:
whiteboarding with engineers, getting into the nitty gritty of video editing;
intimately understanding the how's and why's of the creative’s work; and
iterating on user experience designs until you make the user jump with joy. This
hinges on you being fearless in chasing down all the implications behind the
underlying technology, taking the knowledge gained from user research, and
synthesizing both sides down into clear designs.
What you’ll be working on
Design video editing tools and workflows that elegantly transition from
the simple to the most powerful.
Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to strategize
on how best to deliver high-impact, innovative features in the overall
product roadmap.
Evangelize and communicate your designs through sketches, storyboards,
hi-fidelity mockups, prototypes, or animations.
Engage with Engineering to understand the feasibility of your designs,
proposing smart alternatives along the way and creating detailed design
specifications from which they’ll build.
What you’ll bring to the team
A portfolio that showcases visual and interaction design work and a user-
centered design process
Ability to share design rationale persuasively and concisely to all
functions of the organization, including executives
Ability to prototype your ideas to get feedback on your ideas
Thrive in a culture of critiques, collaborative design, and the camaraderie
of the tight-knit design team
Experience conducting your own user research – from contextual inquiry
to usability studies – presenting study results, and acting on insights
