This is an opportunity to lead the Technology Enterprise Data Management (the technical implementation of data governance) while heavily influencing a series of Enterprise Technology capabilities (e.g. AI/ML, Big Data, Cloud, Real-Time Event Processing & Analytics, etc.) to support the end-to-end development and execution of Amex's data management strategy, and to drive engineering excellence. Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, EEE, Statistics, Math, Industrial Engineering, Operational Research, Physics, Financial Engineering, or related STEM fields. Advanced degree preferred.
• Wide breath of engineering experience as backend Engineer in technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring, Micro Services and more to deliver product capabilities.
• Have strong knowledge in Data Privacy, data security, data sharing aspects of the world.
• Current hands-on experience with industry leading data management and privacy side tools like BigID, Collibra and other similar tools is a big plus.
• Experience in working with microservices, web services & API based integration patterns using REST/SOAP, Mulesoft ESB etc.
• Proficiency in working with Linux commands and scripting and experience in CICD pipeline setup and e2e automation for build, test, and deployment.
• Experience in front end technologies is a plus
• Experience in Industry 4.0 initiatives and/or other aspects of corporate data management, e.g. Data Governance, Data Security, Data Privacy and Data Lifecycle Management
• Experience in high-scale or distributed RDBMS and/or knowledge on NoSQL platforms (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Neo4J, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc)
• Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Hands-on experience on CICD pipelines, Automated test frameworks, DevOps and source code management will be a big plus (XLR, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Jira, Confluence, Splunk etc.)
• Implementation experience / good familiarity with DSAR, GBPR, CCPA and others.
• Confidence in leading and driving the team independently.
• Fostering relationships with Product and other partner groups.
• Strong analytical skills and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of / experience with Machine Learning is a plus.
• Knowledge of / experience with Docker/Kubernetes and one or more public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms & design patterns.
• Opensource contributions will be an added advantage.
