Build, design new project test plans to qualify the contents of project requirements and functional specifications. Design, test cases listed in the project test plan. Improve test specifications by analyzing the root causes of technical issues and develop testing solutions for those root causes. Build and apply new directions as vital to improve the productivity and efficiency of testing. Acquire customer inputs for project testing purposes. Technical lead in guiding junior engineers. Works with minimal direction on sophisticated projects with latitude for independent judgment. Moderate level of skill with extensive proficiency across multiple product lines. This position will be reporting up through the Quality 1 Team in SDDEV Operations, the focus of the Project Test Engineer’s responsibilities will be on testing the Systems functionality specifically the Simcenter Amesim product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop testing methodologies and become a technical guide for one or more products
• Review project documentation and provide recommendations to the project leads as requested
• Write Test Plans and Test Designs for projects, and post the documents to the project tracking repository
• Design, build, & document automated & manual test cases, for both project and non-project situations
• Perform manual testing both for your specified projects and for system test events, file problem reports as vital, and communicate your results to your team and to upper management
• Comply with the test process and Quality Control standards & enforce to project schedules
• Provide technical support to application engineers, technical documentation writers, customers, or the sales team as requested
• Experience with mechatronic systems simulation
• Experience with CAE tools such as Simcenter Amesim, Matlab, Simulink, Modeling
• We are looking for candidate with strong understanding of engineering processes and product development cycles
• Experience with other engineering tools like CAE, PLM, CAD
• Proficient in one or more programming or scripting languages preferably Python
• Familiar with Agile software development specifically scrum framework
• Moderate level of experience using MS Windows required
• Moderate level of experience using Linux a plus !

Qualification:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or computer engineering with a minimum 2 to 5years experience working in an engineering position.
