How will you make an impact in this role?

Primary Responsibilities:

A vital member of the enterprise Colleague Communications team, this role is responsible for the design, production and publishing of a variety of content on the company’s intranet, “The Square”, including daily news and feature stories, home page widgets, and a variety of sites and subsites. This role also works closely with colleagues in Technology and the Colleague Experience Group to ensure responsible governance of all content on The Square, as well as provide important input on the overall strategic roadmap and ongoing enhancements to The Square. This position reports to the Director, Colleague Communications.

  • Code, build, proofread and publish daily news stories on the company’s intranet site, “The Square”
  • Manage home page widgets and all other Colleague Communications properties on The Square
  • Design and implement new Square sites and subsites for Colleague Communications
  • Design, source and edit visual assets for The Square Support governance for The Square: provision new sites, monitor existing sites, ensure irrelevant or outdated content is unpublished
  • Provide guidance and support to Amex Square site owners as a subject matter expert
  • Provide input on the strategic roadmap for The Square
  • Serve as backup for production of the daily roundup of external news covering Amex and industry trends
  • Contribute new ideas for colleague communications editorial strategy

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in managing intranet sites and designing and publishing a wide variety of content
  • Expertise in navigating CMS Platforms including but not limited to Unily and Service Now, as well as the ability to learn new systems efficiently
  • Knowledge of HTML and web development
  • Strong visual and graphic design skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Software including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Media Encoder and Microsoft 365 products
  • Good understanding of key elements of effective content governance
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to provide valuable input and work together across multi-discipline teams to find common solutions
  • Strong creativity and a strategic mindset, including the ability to propose new ideas and approaches
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and handle change with flexibility
