Job Description

We currently have a great opportunity for an HR Specialist/ Coordinator (ER/IR) to join Cargill’s Global HR Solutions team based at our Southbank Melbourne office.

Reporting to the Regional ER/ IR Lead APAC, the HR Specialist (ER/IR) is a key member of the HR team and will be the main point of contact for the HR operations and employee relations activities across our multiple locations within Australia.

Proactively coordinating HR operations activities, this varied role will see you managing HR inbox and ticket requests, contracts / variation letters, employment policies renewals and maintaining employee files. You will build key relationships and offer ER/IR support and advice to people mangers to understand and investigate employee or manager concerns regarding conduct, performance, or attendance

Key Duties

  • Reporting and administrative support; maintaining policies, HR forms, HR portal, WGEA reporting
  • Produce employment contracts, employee letters, mobility & relocation cases
  • Coordinate HR communications and manage the monthly HR newsletter
  • Manage policies, procedures, templates, and checklists on employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, disputes and termination
  • Support on EBA negotiations and provide EBA clarification to sites when required
  • Providing backup for payroll and be involved in payroll approval process
  • Ad-hoc duties and involvement in HR projects as required

This role offers exposure to a broad range of HR operations and will suite a passionate HR Coordinator with a sound knowledge and genuine interest in ER/IR, who is looking to further develop their career in this area.

About You

Skills/Experience required:

Essential

  • Extensive administration experience and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Previous experience in an HR Coordinator role
  • Ability to build, and sustain positive working relationships with managers and employees
  • Strong negotiation skills, and ability to manage difficult conversations and conflict
  • Understanding of enterprise barging agreements and HR processes
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information and documents
  • Strong drive for results with practical, result and outcome focus
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Skills

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management and/or Industrial Relations or relevant experience will be preferred
  • Previous experience in an ER/IR role ideally in a large organisation will be highly regarded
  • Experience in renewing and updating HR policies
