Your day to day
The Field Marketing Manager role is a key team member for the IHG Field Marketing team and functions as a strategic marketing partner for our managed and franchised estate of hotels. Field Marketing is a new and quickly growing team at IHG looking for eager candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit to help shape the direction of our Advisory Services offering.
- Serve as primary point of contact for on-property Directors of Sales & Marketing, Digital Marketing teams with Global Marketing Shared Services and Field Marketing, Commercial, Sales, Revenue Management, Operations, agencies, and other market-specific teams.
- Consult and design customized annual strategic and tactical marketing plans for each property focused on driving incremental, profitable revenue and meet the business targets of the individual properties.
- Develop hotel-level performance insights and lead regular meetings with on-property marketing team to report on results.
- Coordinate strategic and tactical information between outside vendors and internal team members to establish a pace of accomplishment; cultivate vendors’ understanding of relevant brands and specific hotel properties; develop understanding of their business requirements and articulate their needs to internal team members to enhance processes.
- Plan and manage hotel marketing budget and preferred agencies with a focus on budget, ROI, performance metrics, through various digital marketing activities.
- Identify opportunities for hotel and market-level partnerships, campaigns, and promotions.
- Document all interactions with hotels, i.e., planning meetings, presentations, review of results.
- Educate DOSMs, GMs, and owners on marketing and digital topics and trends
- Educate hotel and regional leadership about strategy, best practices, and policies/procedures to validate adherence to and adoption of marketing activities.
What we need from you
Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or Commerce or related disciplines.
- Additional studies and courses desirable i.e. Revenue Management, Hospitality, Distribution, Marketing, etc.
Critical Expertise & Experience:
- 7+ years in relevant experience in digital marketing, including campaign management, channel management, paid media, SEO, social media, PR, etc.
- Travel and/or Hotel Industry experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and business acumen.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Understanding of hotel Industry, particularly in digital marketing.
- Knowledge across a wide area of digital marketing disciplines.
- Superior oral and written communications skills including presentation skills, public speaking ability, and group decision facilitation; including the ability to write effective marketing copy, proof read, and follow style guidelines .
- Ability to influence internal customers and business leaders and effectively establish strong working relationships that produce solid results.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to effectively and competently handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility to quickly adapt to changes in work objectives and available technologies; ability to drive insights from data analytics.
